Principle of operation

Hot and cold streams flow in adjacent channels. Corrugated plates provide high flow turbulence, which provides a significantly higher heat transfer efficiency with a heat transfer surface area 50–80% smaller than that of shell-and-tube counterparts. Turbulence also reduces the rate of deposit formation. The unique design of the Compabloc plates eliminates the appearance of “dead zones” inside the heat exchanger.
